Mobilization for birth certificate

With the occasion of the municipal elections in Oct 15, 2006, in Greece, we the immigrants that live and give birth in Greece publicized out struggle for the provision of birth certificates for our children that are born in Greece.

The situation is tragic. The Greek authorities do not give a birth certificate to immigrant children.

In all the planet and in all over Europe, there is no other country that denies this obvious elementary right. Thus Greece constitutes a sad world wide exception. This denial has devastating effects: today the second-generation immigrant children in Greece are stateless and are forced to live in social exclusion. 1st of May protest for migrant’s rights

We are exploited in our job! The Greek State demands stamps from us and at the same time there is no law to protect us from our bosses! We are trapped! We cannot do business of our own as they demand 60.000 euros!

So let’s get up and demand our rights! No one will come home and give them to us! We leave home because our governments refuse to give us our rights, so why staying in a foreign land at the same conditions? Keep reading →

2 hours of kid’s play (with computers)

The United African Women Organization and the online journal Re-public invite you to an evening of play and experimentation with the OLPC XO-1 laptop computer. Children can paint, write, play games, create their own sounds, film their own videos.


6 X0-1 laptops will be present to trigger the children’s creativity.
